Dense Fog Grounds Me In My North Texas Location

A dense fog has rolled into town from the ocean, or somewhere, on this 4th morning of the new year of 2024.

In addition to being foggy, the outer world is currently cold. Above freezing, but, still cold.

The foggy view you see above is what I see out my kitchen window as I make an Instant Pot of French Onion Soup.

Hot soup on a cold winter day seemed the thing to do today.

I think I shall forego outer world walking today, perhaps doing so at one of my many Walmart walking venues. Or not.

Currently, in the long-range weather forecast for my location, Saturday, January 13 is the only day with the following in the forecast...

Cloudy and very cold with occasional snow and flurries.

I am not in the mood for either "very cold" or "snow and flurries"...

Foggy Semi-Warm Nature Communing Walk In Lucy Park

On this final Sunday of the second month of 2023, it was to a foggy Lucy Park I ventured today for the first instance of nature communing in several days.

I have mostly avoided the outer world the past few days due to the temperature being below freezing, along with a strong wind blowing.

Today the outer world was heated to 54 degrees by the time I arrived at Lucy Park, about an hour before noon.

With absolutely no wind blowing.

A little rain and some thunder is on the weather menu for the rest of today. So far I have seen no drippage, other than fog, and no thunder booms.

I expected Lucy Park to be visitor-free today, due to the foggy chill.

I was wrong.

There were multiple disc golfers, and fellow walkers enjoying the foggy conditions which are very reminiscent of a winter day in my old home zone of Washington, where one expects such due to the proximity to large bodies of ocean water.

At my currently location there are no large bodies of water in any direction for hundreds of miles...

Hoping The Fog Lifts Before Lady Gaga's Super Bowl Halftime Show

One of my vehicles under the carport safe from the Fog
When one lives close to the ocean one expects to wake up every once in awhile to find ones outlook on the outer world to be foggy.

Such was the case this morning on this fifth day of 2017's February.

Super Bowl Sunday.

Super Bowl LI

I'm not much of a fan of the football game part of the Super Bowl, unless someone like the Seattle Seahawks is playing, or the Dallas Cowboys.

Apparently not many people are alive in 2017 possessing a living memory of the Dallas Cowboys playing in the Super Bowl.

I do remember the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowling a time or two in the past few years.

I used to find the Super Bowl commercials to have some entertainment value. But the commercials have not been all the memorable the last several years.

Nor has the Super  Bowl Halftime Show been memorable the last several years.

Today I will likely make  it through the Halftime Show before bailing on the 2017 iteration of the Super Bowl.

I like Lady Gaga.

I am expecting Lady Gaga to put on a super Super Bowl Halftime Show. If Lady Gaga does not deliver a super show I will be terribly disappointed.

Dense December Fog After Night Of Christmas Lights Before Arctic Blast

This first Monday of December, by the time I took a picture out of my computer room window, the dense fog I saw when I first looked out a window, whilst making coffee this morning, had somewhat lifted, with the level of fog denseness no longer rendering it dangerous to float ones boat on the nearby inland sea known as Lake Wichita.

Last night when the sun ended its daily illumination I toured the Christmas light displays one starts touring near the east side of MSU (Midwestern State University).

To tour the lights for a short distance I followed a horse drawn light touring carriage. After that I followed one of the lights touring trams, and then a few blocks later I came upon a second lights touring tram.

I have no way of knowing if the art of Christmas displays has ratcheted up to new levels nationwide, or in Arlington's Interlochen. But what I do know is I have never seen homes with Christmas displays the likes of which I saw last night.

Incredible.

It has long been a mystery, to me, why anyone would go to such effort to put up such elaborate displays for such a short time frame.

I will return to the lights sometime before Christmas to photo and video document that which I saw last night.

But, before I do that this current Arctic Blast that is chilling North Texas needs to come to an end with the return of reasonable temperatures.

As you can see, above, by Thursday the outer world at my location is scheduled to be chilled to 18 degrees.

18 degrees is cold. Real cold.

I must go on an extensive search for my illusive long underwear today in preparation for the incoming Deep Freeze....

Swimming In Dense Fog Before Experiencing No Go Yoga

What you are looking at here is the view from my patio balcony lookout on the outer world, looking through a dense fog at an increasingly cool pool, and the white ghost which has taken up residence in one of the pool zone's trees.

I did not have to much trouble navigating my way to the pool this morning, despite the almost zero visibility.

Til I took up residence in this landlocked part of the planet I thought land had to be near a large body of water, like an ocean, to have dense fog events.

The 24 hour temperature average continues to be well above 50. A 24 hour temperature average below 50 is my threshold beyond which I do not get in the then too cool pool.

Yesterday when I took myself to River Legacy Park in Arlington I had not intended that to be a jogging excursion. However, two miles from vehicular cover heavy rain turned me into a running maniac. I had no idea I was now able to run two miles at semi-high speed.

Decades ago I took up yoga. I used to get back aches, decades ago. Yoga pretty much put an end to back aches. Over the following decades my yoga practice became a reduced routine of my yoga pose favorites. Like the Bhujangasana Cobra Pose. A couple years ago I discovered I could no longer the Halasana Plough Pose, let alone the Revere Plough Pose.

It was an increase in the diameter of my mid-section which made the Plough Pose impossible. I have since reduced the size of the diameter of my mid-section, and while I am closer to being able to do the full Plough Pose, it is no where near the effortless act it used to be, long long ago.

A decade or so ago, during a previous moment of madness where I decided to once again become a Yoga Maniac I bought The Complete Idiot's Guide to Yoga.

Well.

This morning I was distraught to learn it is not only the Plough Pose that is no longer effortless for me. Pretty much all the Poses, except the most simple, are not an easy stretch.

This morning I had absolutely no problem with the Tadasana Mountain Pose. Basically this Yoga Pose involves standing still with your feet together, arms stretched down. That's it. One is supposed to center oneself. I aced this one. The other Poses in this section presented various levels of difficulty. And then I came to another one I aced.

The Plank Pose. Basically the up position of a push up.

My next failure was the Vashishthasana Arm Balance Pose. Ouch.

The next chapter was all about bending backwards. Up first was the aforementioned Bhujangasana Cobra Pose. I can do this one. But I don't feel good about it. The next one to cause me trouble was the Dhanurasana Bow Pose. I used to be so flexible. This morning I learned this is no longer the case. There are multiple Bow Poses, all of which flex vexed me.

Then I came to one I do all the time, the Urdhvamukha Shvanasana Upward Facing Dog Pose. Basically the Cobra Pose only you keep arching further back with the help of your arms, help which is not part of the Cobra Pose.

I shall mention only one more Yoga Pose failure, because to list them all is just way too depressing. The Ustrasana Camel Pose. This one is so simple, or it used to be.

Well, I am determined to get myself back being a Yoga Master. When I reach that point maybe I'll make a video to document it. Yeah, I can really see that happening....

Slowly Making My Way Through A Dense North Texas Fog To A Steaming Hot Tub

Last night in the middle of the night, as in at 3 in the morning, my phone went off with its incoming text message type noise.

After the phone woke me up I woke it up to find the message which woke me up was from AccuWeather, alerting me to the fact that a heavy fog would be blanketing North Texas by morning.

Why did I need to know this in the middle of the night? I must find out how to shut AccuWeather up. It's more annoying than Pete Delkus in Weather Drama Queen Mode.

By the time the sun arrived this morning following by me opening that which blocks the incoming sun from coming in my windows, it was obvious, without any sort of AccuWeather alert, that a heavy fog had descended upon the land.

I don't recollect seeing a pea soup thick fog of this level at my current location previously. This is like a thick fog rolling in from Puget Sound and the Pacific Ocean. There is no ocean within hundreds of miles of my current location.

The foggy view in the above photo is from the vantage point of this morning's foggy hot tub soak. Normally in this view, without fog, you could see the redrock colored walls of Albertsons. This morning all you see is a wall of fog.

I do not know if it is safe to drive anywhere, what with this almost zero visibility thing happening. I suspect by the time I'm feeling like rolling any sort of wheels the fog will have lifted sufficiently to make it safe to do so.

Foggy Tandy Hills Hiking With Disappearing Trees

Fog Shrouded Downtown Fort Worth
When I exited my abode, intending to drive to the Tandy Hills, I was a bit surprised to discover that the ongoing foggy drizzle had rendered the ground at my location very damp.

As I drove west I decided to change my hill hike plan to a walk plan and go to Oakland Lake Park instead.

And then the further west I drove the drier the outer world became. So, I reverted back to the Tandy Hills hike plan.

I parked on top of Mount Tandy and began my foggy hike. As you can see in the above picture, the stunning skyline of beautiful downtown Fort Worth is barely visible through the fog shroud.

I was soon pleased to discover that the trails of the Tandy Hills were totally dry, no mud anywhere.

The picture below shows some of today's dry Tandy trails. And the fogginess.

That hill you see in the background, with a trail leading up it, well, when I hiked up that trail I was a bit startled to see that the big shade tree I've always seen there had disappeared. And then when I got to the top of the trail I was even more surprised to find the area pretty much stripped of all un-natural vegetation.

I had discovered the location, well, at least one of the locations, of last Saturday's Brush Bashing, that being the systematic removal of non-native plants from part of the Tandy Hills prairie.

The Brush Bashing left this area rather bare, as you can see in the above picture. In the heat of summer this used to be a location where I would stand for a bit under the shade of the aforementioned tree.

In the picture, in the center background, you might be able to make out the 8 benches that were recently installed on the Tandy Hills, creating the Tandy Hills Amphitheater, now with a lot more open space.

Today was my first time back on the Tandy Hills in quite some time. I rather enjoyed it. I was not alone in enjoying the Tandy Hills today. I saw several other people doing some salubrious hill hiking.

A Foggy February Texas Swim With Drizzle

Well before this morning's arrival of the sun, my computer based weather monitoring device let me know that a dense fog was in the process of fogging up North Texas.

As you can, see via the view from my pool patio, in  a picture taken around 9, the fog is shrouding visibility so much I can not see Albertsons, which is usually visible in this view.

A couple hours before the foggy picture was taken I left my abode to go swimming.

Yesterday the temperature reached into the 70s. This morning, when I woke up my computer, it was 58. I figured the pool would be more doable than it was yesterday morning.

More doable it indeed was. I lasted about 3 minutes, rather than 1, before I retreated to the hot tub.

The fog was so thick, in the early morn, that a drizzle drizzled heavily, coating the outer world in extreme dampness. It was like being near the ocean with no ocean nearby.

As you can see, via the screencap of the information provided by my computer based weather monitoring device, the sun is predicted to appear, eventually, today, with the temperature scheduled to almost get to 70. I suspect I will make another swim attempt tomorrow morning. It actually is quite enjoyable. Particularly the escape to the hot tub part...

A Foggy Hike On The Tandy Hills With Organic Coffee Yogurt At Town Talk

From the top of Mount Tandy, looking west, across the wagon trail that heads towards downtown Fort Worth, you can only barely see the aforementioned beautiful town's stunning skyline, due to fog diminishing visibility.

The temperature was somewhere in the 40s when I went hill hiking today. I thought the fog might make for some extra chilling, but it didn't. A t-shirt provided sufficient top coverage.

I got gas today on the way to the Tandy Hills. So, like I usually do when I get gas, I called my mom. No answer.

It appears, according to my computer based weather monitoring device that we are in from some rain over the next few days. With a return to freezing on Wednesday. I would prefer a return to the 80s of a day or two ago.

Today is the final Saturday of the first month of 2013. With today being Saturday and me being a creature of habit, I visited the zoo known as Town Talk. Today I got a lot of avocados at 20 cents each. I foresee some guacamole making in an hour or two.

On my last Town Talk visit I got a case of dark chocolate yogurt. I am not much of a chocolate fan. But I do like dark chocolate in small doses. Years ago I was shocked to discover that I really like chocolate cheesecake, so I thought there was a chance dark chocolate yogurt might be a good thing.

Well, it was. A really good thing.

Today I saw no dark chocolate yogurt in the Town Talk walk-in cooler. But, there were a lot of cases of coffee yogurt. I did not think there was a chance that I would discover this to be a good thing, so I did not get myself any coffee yogurt.

Thinking about dark chocolate yogurt had me heading to my refrigerator. I am looking at the yogurt container right now. Wallaby Organic Down Under Dark Chocolate Lowfat Yogurt.

With the Wallaby word and the Down Under phrase I assumed this was imported from Australia yogurt.

Then I looked at the the ingredients label where it says ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS: Organic Cultured Pasteurized Reduced Fat Milk, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Chocolate Liquor, Organic Locust Bean Gum, Pectin, Organic Vanilla Extract.

And then a sentence saying "Our premium organic milk comes from pasture based family farms in Northern California".

Not Northern Australia.

I am a bit concerned after reading the all natural ingredients to see that the pectin apparently is not organic. I almost feel as if maybe I should cease consuming this yogurt. But, it is just too tasty.

I also see on the yogurt container that the Wallaby Yogurt Company has a website. And that they are located in one of my favorite places, that being California's Napa Valley. I must muster the energy to find contact info on the Wallaby Yogurt Company website so I can ask why the pectin is not organic.

Getting Cold Walking With The Fosdick Lake Fosducks

The Shivering Fosducks of Fosdick Lake
Yesterday the temperature at my location neared or exceeded 80. Hiking the Tandy Hills yesterday the only outerwear needed were shoes and shorts.

Overnight a new cold front has breezed in, which had the morning starting off with light fog. If I am going to get to experience fog I like it to be of the dense sort. Light fog really is not all that interesting.

Years ago, driving on the Olympic Peninsula, after having hiked to the Pacific from Lake Ozette, heading towards Forks for the night, I found myself in the thickest fog I've ever experienced.

I think the technical term for this type fog is a Pea Soup Fog. This fog was so thick I had to drive really slow. The headlights almost made the visibility worse. Very scary. Eventually made it to an equally scary motel in Forks.

I have not been to Forks since it became famous due to those Twilight movies. I suspect the town has been rejuvenated. Thinking about Forks quickly had me thinking about La Push, which just as quickly had me feeling homesick for some good ocean scenery.

Changing the subject back to the beautiful scenery I see at my current location.

The temperature was in the upper 40s when I drove to Oakland Lake Park to walk around Fosdick Lake. Supposedly, according to my computer based weather monitoring device, the wind had it really feeling like it was 27. However, there was no wind blowing making the air feel colder than it was.

Even so, I did not get the right level of outerwear covering me to prevent getting cold whilst walking fast.

I walked around the lake once, and then got back into the climate controlled comfort of my mechanical transportation device.

Even though outside it is cold, I have had no inclination to fire up my interior space's heating device. This place is well insulated. But, I suspect within a few more hours the insulation will no longer be keeping the cold at bay.

The 2nd Monday Morning Of April Is Very Foggy In Texas

The Monday morning view from all my viewing portals on the outer world is the foggiest I ever remember seeing from this location.

It is a thick fog that feels like drizzle when you step outside.

Apparently the weather predictors have now decided to predict rain and more thunder from now through Wednesday.

I do not know where I will be getting any bi-pedal endorphin inducing aerobic stimulation today.

Of late I have managed to make the swimming a bit more strenuous and perhaps a bit more aerobic. But I don't know if that aerobic-ness has reached an endorphin inducing level.

I went to Miss Puerto Rico's yesterday late in the afternoon for the first time in a long time. I did not stay long. We need not discuss why.

I got back to my abode looking forward to watching The Amazing Race to find that once again some sports thing running on too long had delayed the start of the race. I have no idea what sports thing did the damage last night. I'm fairly certain it was not football. That would seem to leave baseball, basketball or golf as the likely culprit.

I think I will walk out into the super dense fog and go swimming now before it gets any foggier or lightning starts striking.

The 2nd Friday Of December Dawns Cold While Thinking About Going Skinny Dipping With My Potential Wife

Dawn has not yet arrived this second Friday of the last month of 2011. I stepped outside to get a sense of the condition of the outer world and found that it was cold.

38 degrees.

My location on this formerly parched part of the planet has been put under a Fog Advisory by the Weather Predictors.

From what I can see, so far, it does not appear to be too foggy. Yet.

I thought I was going to have a bout of bad insomnia last night. I thought wrong. I did have a bout of weird nightmares that made me wish I could do screencaps of nightmares.

My Durango TV blog had not caught fire for awhile, til yesterday. The bloggings generating a lot of hits were The X-Factor Eliminates Rachel Crow With A Meltdown and ABC's The Bachelor Ben Flajnik Goes Skinny Dipping With Potential Wife

I won't be skinny dipping with my potential wife this morning. Even though it did get above 50 degrees yesterday, the 24 hour average has not been 50 or above. Thus it is too cool for the pool.

I think I'll be visiting the Indian Ghosts at Village Creek Natural Historic Area and Pantego today.

A Dense Monday Morning Fog Greets North Texas After The Texas Rangers Tie The World Series

You can sort of see via the pre-dawn view from my secondary viewing portal on the outer world that this next to last Monday of the 10th month of 2011 is a foggy morning in Texas.

A dense fog always seems so odd to me at this location. I've always associated fog with being near large bodies of saltwater. The only saltwater near this parched part of the planet is fracking saltwater polluted by the Barnett Shale gas drillers.

Changing the subject from fog to baseball.

Well, North Texas slept a bit sounder last night, peacefully going to sleep knowing the Texas Rangers beat St. Louis in Game 4 of the World Series.

I had intended to go to the State Fair of Texas this year. In the abstract, before the fair started, this seemed like something I wanted to do. But, somehow from the day the fair opened, in September, til closing on Sunday, I did not make it to Dallas.

My right arm is back aching bad again. Because of that pain and the pain of trying to find my way to my swimming pool through a dense fog, I think I'll skip swimming this morning.

Seeing Fog While Watching For Flash Floods In Fort Worth

You are looking at the view from my computer room window, Thursday morning, with me now on my second day of watching for a Flash Flood.

So far, no Flash Flood, very little rain, with this morning looking more like a Flash Fog than Flood.

As in I was slightly drizzled on when I went swimming this morning, making it seem like I was near the ocean, swimming, rather than 100s of miles from the nearest saltwater.

According to the almost thoroughly discredited weather forecasters, rain and thunderstorms are possible today.

With it being like a stereotypical Pacific Northwest winter day out there, except for being 75, I'm making a warm me up in winter type thing this morning.

That would be a big pot of chili. It will go good with this humongous loaf of something called Artisan Jumbo County Whole Wheat Bread. I got the Jumbo Bread at Town Talk yesterday. I've never seen a loaf of bread like this before. It weighs over 3 pounds.

Cheese finally returned to Town Talk yesterday. The chili with cheese will be ready about 1 this afternoon. Don't be late for lunch.

Foggy Fort Worth Hiking On The Tandy Hills & Unanswered TCEQ Questions

Another balmy day, with temperatures in the 50s, had me hiking the Tandy Hills at noon, for the 9th day in a row.

Today looked like hiking might not be doable, due to the extreme thick fog that has settled over the Fort Worth zone of North Texas, so thick it was like being in a cloud, with a mist getting the windshield wet,

But not to the point that windshield wipers were required. And once I hit the ground on the Tandy Hills I had no wetness issues. Except for overheating related wetness.

Speaking of wetness. I stayed in the pool this morning for the longest duration of the new year. I long ago figured out that an average temperature in the 50s made the pool easily
doable. But that vexing sub-freezing business we had going on since the day before Christmas cooled the water down to near freezing, so it has not warmed up to a satisfying 50 something temperature quite yet.

Can you spot the skyline of beautiful downtown Fort Worth through the fog? The picture was taken from the top of Mount Tandy.

Big Ed went hiking with me today on the Tandy Hills. Afterwards we headed to Town Talk. Stopped at a light on Beach Street, heading north, Big Ed pointed out a Barnett Shale gas drilling site and the plumes of something rising up from it.

Big Ed pondered the possibility that the gas drillers might be using a heavy fog day, like today, to do something nefarious that puts off plumes of fumes, that they would not dare try on a clear day.

Big Ed is a big proponent of crackpot paranoia type conspiracy theories. Then again, it was odd seeing that big plume of something spewing skyward from the drilling site. Have never seen that happening on a clear day.

But, one has to tell oneself that that Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) maintains an eagle-eyed watch on the gas drillers, highly respected, reputable agency that it is.

By the way, I've yet to get an answer from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to the questions I submitted via their website.

In the meantime, I got most of the answers via other means.

But one HUGE question remains. As in, how is the water being taken from the Trinity River being metered?

Information I found on the TCEQ indicates that water taken via the means it's being taken from the Trinity River by gas drillers, must be metered.

I'm thinking that it is the inability to answer my meter question that has kept TCEQ mute.

A Cold, Foggy, Drizzling Day Descends On The Morrison Ranch In Fort Worth Texas

Fosdic called around noon wanting to go on a walk. I did not realize we were being pummeled by an ocean-like drizzle this afternoon, here in landlocked Fort Worth.

So, I aborted on the outdoor type walk and went with the pushing a cart around Wal-Mart option.

There were so many human spectacles today at Wal-Mart. It's like some sort of natural Fellini movie.

After Wal-Mart I was driving John T. White Road and I remembered a very odd thing I'd seen on Morrison Road, that I'd previously mentioned to Fosdic.

Celebration Church. It looks like a movie theater bowling alley type place had slammed into a regular church. But what caught my eye, this time, that I'd not seen before, is why Morrison Street is so-named, I assume, because directly across the street from Celebration Church is Morrison Ranch, complete with horses.

The southern border of Morrison Ranch is Interstate 30.

Morrison seems like a good Texas name. I used to know a Morrison up in Washington. Last I saw her she'd grown into a really big girl. I don't think she could possibly get on a horse. Maybe a Clydesdale with a lift assist.

I've lost track of the Morrison girl. I've no contact with anyone who maintains contact with the Morrison girl. Maybe she's slimmed down, moved to Texas and opened the Morrison Ranch for all I know.

Highly unlikely.

It's Another Foggy Sunday In Fort Worth Texas

It was foggy last Sunday, here in Fort Worth. And now, on the second Sunday of December it is much foggier than last Sunday.

Are we in for a month of foggy Sundays?

In the picture we are heading north, towards the entry to the 820 freeway at 8 this morning. Without the fog, from this view, you'd see the high flyover pass, a short distance away, that takes drivers from I-30 to 820. But today it is invisible.

If Fort Worth were on the ocean we'd be in full foghorn mode today. But Fort Worth is years away from finishing its man made ocean that is part of the Trinity River Vision, quaintly called Town Lake. I don't know if ferry boats are planned to facilitate crossing Town Lake. I know some signature bridges had been planned, but when the price tag soared into the billion buck range the signature bridges signed off for locally designed non-signature bridges.

The predicted high here for today is 72. The low 52. It is currently 47. So, I'm doubting we will be hitting the 70s today. It was also 47 when I went swimming, for a very short time, this morning. The Big Chill followed by getting steamed in the foggy hot tub.

Another Cold Foggy Wet Day In Fort Worth Texas

It is not even winter yet and I've grown tired of that particular season this second Tuesday of December in Texas.

That is my balcony view when I returned from swimming around 8 this morning. The fog was so thick it was pretty much a drizzle getting everything soaking wet.

It is a relatively balmy 40 right now in foggy Fort Worth. I suspect the swimming water was a few degrees warmer.

My new swimming shock therapy method is to run into the pool til I'm in swim mode, swim to the end, swim back, run to the hot tub. When I get in the hot tub I feel no heat for a couple minutes. Then it gets feeling too hot. I then get back in the pool where it takes about 2 minutes to feel too cool again.

I heard from the Mad Texas Grandma a couple times last night, emailing from her cruise ship somewhere in either the Gulf of Mexico or the Caribbean. We still have not found out who actually owns A-AARLINGTON ABANDONED VEHICLE or how it is they tow cars from the Stadium Wal-Mart with Wal-Mart claiming they have no towing contract with the mysterious company.

It is going to be a long day.

Foggy Fosdic Lake In Fort Worth With Swirling Flocks Of Ducks

I went to Oakland Lake Park at noon to walk around Fosdic Lake. As I walked the temperature seemed to drop, and then a light drizzle. By the time I was back driving a thick, dense fog had settled in. I got back here to see the temperature had dropped. It was 41 when I left. 37 now.

Texas weather is so different than what I grew up knowing in Washington.

Does anyone know why ducks flock together and move in a circle when it's cold? In the picture you see 2 flocks of circling ducks. There were two additional flocks of circlers to the right.

Apparently 'circlers' is not a word because it just got flagged red, indicating it's a misspelling. Well, I think it should be a word, so I'm leaving it alone.

In the second picture you are looking north on Bridge Street. When Bridge Street crosses the 820 freeway it becomes John T. White Street. I don't know why they change street names like that here in Texas. It's confusing.

You can see it's quite dark here at 1pm, headlights on, low visibility. I imagine this fog is causing some problems at the airport.

Buzzer is buzzing. That means sweet potatoes have been turned into baked sweet potatoes fries for lunch, to go along with turkey kielbasa and tomato salad. You are going to need to be here in 10 minutes, or so, if you want lunch.

Another Foggy, Drizzling, Gray Fort Worth Thursday

That is the 9am morning view from Miss Puerto Rico's balcony. Another gray, foggy day in Fort Worth, Texas.

I went swimming in a fog this morning. That was enjoyable. We neared 90, yesterday, temperature-wise, so the water had warmed considerably.

Way too often the simplest of things can befuddle me. Last night it was figuring out how to get Miss Puerto Rico's TV to work. Eventually I gave up and watched The New Adventures of Old Christine through a lot of snow, while I ate a bunch of chicken wings.

By this morning I looked at the TV controller again and realized I had to hit the VCR/TV switch to make it work. It has been a couple years since I quit using a VCR to control my TV, so I'd totally forgotten about a VCR/TV switch on a remote control. I partly attribute my semi-senility to having been up since 3am and being a bit tired.

I got a couple amusing comments to a blogging yesterday about Vancouver being the Fort Worth of the North. Steve A. pointed out to me that Vancouver is in the Southwest, unless you are an Imperialist American. Steve also pointed out to me that Victoria is the Fort Worth of Southwest Canada, which makes Vancouver the Dallas of the Canadian Southwest.

Yesterday was a good day. We'll have to wait and see how today goes.
