It is almost 4 hours after a pre-dawn picture was taken of the view through the bars of my patio prison cell on this 10th day of August.
Microsoft is always very concerned about evil doers exploiting a weakness and taking over my computer. This morning it was Microsoft installing security updates which took over my computer.
Microsoft really seems to be the only evil doer that regularly takes over my computer.
I just heard from my therapist, Dr. L.C., asking what is wrong with me, apparently concerned that I am tardy with my regular blogging. Dr. L.C. also informed me she was canceling today's regularly scheduled therapy appointment due to needing to go celebrate the 20th Anniversary of her 29th birthday.
Happy Birthday, Dr. L.C.
Speaking of schedules, today we are scheduled to be Day 40 in a Row over 100 degrees in North Texas. The record is 42 days.
Also scheduled is tomorrow's Grand Opening of Fort Worth's first In n' Out Burger joint. I suspect there will be traffic jams on West 7th tomorrow caused by legions of In n' Out fans looking to have a Double Double Cheeseburger.
I won't be one of the legion of fans jamming West 7th. I'll wait for the hubbub to die down to get me a Double Double Cheeseburger.

Fort Worth Wind Chilling At 14 Degrees

At least we are a bit warmer than my old location in the state of Washington where it is 16 degrees in Mount Vernon right now. With no wind.
So, I guess it is feeling colder here in Fort Worth than it is in Mount Vernon.
I have not ventured out into the deep freeze yet today. So, yes, there are limits to my insanity, in that I have not gone swimming this morning.

I did not hear from the Mad Texas Grandma yesterday. I've not yet learned who authorized A-AArlington to remove more than 50 vehicles from the Dallas Cowboy Stadium Wal-Mart on October 21.
I have heard from a Fort Worth, I believe, TCU student, named Ryan Cormier, via Twitter, that A-AArlington towed his car. I'll copy Ryan's Twitter Tweet....
"@RyanJCormier @DurangoTexas That place is the worst! They have towed my car before in Fort Worth!"
In Twitter world having an @ in front of name turns the name into a link to that particular Twitter account.
Microsoft has just installed yet one more round of updates to my computer, fixing yet more security problems that might allow some evil entity, like Microsoft, to take control of my computer. Now it is pestering me to restart so these important updates can take effect.

Bill Gates & His Microsoft Minions Took Over My Computer Last Night

Then a little message balloon popped up telling me that critical security updates had been installed which required the computer to be re-started. I clicked on the balloon to see what these updates were, but the balloon went away without telling me.
The normal procedure for Windows XP updates is I'm told they've been downloaded and are ready to install. I then hit the install now button.
Usually the critical Microsoft Windows XP security updates say something like an issue has been discovered that could allow someone to take over your computer, this update fixes that issue. It's worded totally different than that, but I've got the drift of the message right.
I find it very ironic that the only entity I am aware of that takes over my computer, without my permission, is Microsoft. Isn't this some sort of crime? Or should be. I think Bill Gates needs to do some hard time behind bars again.

Microsoft XP Update Headache

I used to so regularly get headaches I just assumed one would arrive whenever I was doing something fun. Like both times I went to Vancouver's Expo 86. Splitting, blinding, throbbing headaches. And then the drive back to the U.S. You don't know fun til you drive from Vancouver, south to the border, past midnight, brain in going to have a stroke mode, to find the border crossing you chose to use, closed at midnight, requiring a multi-mile detour to get to another crossing.
And now on to a more metaphorical headache. Microsoft and its relentless Windows XP Updates. They are automatically downloaded. You get that little notice that Critical Updates are Ready to Install. I look at the 5 or 6 Critical Updates and each says something has been discovered that may allow some rogue force to take over my computer.
The only rogue force that has taken over my computer has been Microsoft.
The last time I chose to ignore the update notices, I'd select 'Cancel." Figuring I'd install the Critical Updates when it was convenient. A couple days go by, Microsoft continued to nag me. Then, in the middle of the night, my computer woke up. Microsoft had taken control of my computer and was installing the updates!!!
To me this would seem to indicate that Microsoft is the problem from whom I need protection. I had several programs open. All gone when the computer was restarted.
Who are these people who are finding ways to exploit security breeches and supposedly take over random computers? Why would anyone want to do that? If there are people doing such things, why not go after them and leave my computer alone.
I should not have even started this blogging. My headache is now much worse.

Annoying Microsoft XP Security Updates

Previously I'd get a message that updates have been downloaded and are ready to install. This allowed me to make the update when it was convenient for me.
Once previously and now again this morning Microsoft decided it can take over my computer and install the update and restart my computer with no input from me.
Now, the majority of these security updates, when you are allowed to looked at their details, tell me that the updates fixes a new found problem that might allow someone to take control of my computer.
But the only thing that seems to be able to do that is Microsoft itself. Where is the protection from the Microsoft security breech that lets Microsoft restart my computer whenever it wants?
This morning it happened at 5am. I was still in bed and I heard the computer make its start up noise. I wondered, what fresh hell is this? When I woke up the computer, I quickly saw what the fresh hell was. My computer had been restarted. Everything I had open was gone. And a little icon on the taskbar told me updates had been installed. When I clicked the little icon so I could see what the updates were, the icon went away without opening.
So, apparently, Microsoft does not want me to know what it did to my computer this time.
Where is the security update to protect me from Microsoft? And don't tell me Linux. Or Apple.
I am not alone in my aggravation over this issue. The image above had the update message in what looked like German. So, Microsoft is creating an international nuisance. Under that image on the website I got it from was the following...
This must be one of the most annoying features in Windows.
Look the other way for a minute and find out that windows update rebooted your PC after installing security updates.
Oh? By the way, all the work you've done is gone.
How about giving users an hour to react, and not 30 seconds?
