Protesting With Princess Annie Of Wink Taking A Drink Before Heading To Mississippi

In the picture you are looking at Princess Annie of Wink. I believe this picture was taken soon before, or after, Princess Annie had her 8th grade graduation ceremony.

I am fairly certain that is not an adult beverage Princess Annie is holding.

But, who knows? There ain't a lot of law west of the Pecos. Or so I have heard.

I last saw Princess Annie, in person, over four years ago, if my memory is serving me somewhat reliably. At that point in time Princess Annie was still a little girl.

Way back in the winter of 2010, Princess Annie, and her mother, the Queen of Wink, drove all the way to Fort Worth, from Wink, so as to join the protest at the Tarrant County Courthouse protesting what Chesapeake Energy was planning to do to Carter Avenue.

After the protest we packed Judge Sprinkle's courtroom.

Four years later there have been a lot of changes in the Barnett Shale. Chesapeake Energy has gone from being a shadow government of the city of Fort Worth to being sued by Fort Worth, and others, due to Chesapeake's shady dealings.

Carter Avenue was saved, Judge Sprinkle was retired, Aubrey McClendon was booted from Chesapeake, in disgrace, and no one has heard from Steve Doeung in years.

On that protest day, four years ago, after we were done protesting, Annie, her mom and I went to the Fort Worth Stockyards, for BBQ and so I could watch the Queen of Wink and Princess Annie get themselves totally bum puzzled trying to figure their way out of the Cowtown Maze.

Now it is June of 2014 and Princess Annie is scheduled to leave Texas for a few weeks of Mississippi time. Then, near the end of June, the Queen of Wink will venture to Tyler, Texas to fetch Princess Annie, then head back to Wink, with a possible stop in Fort Worth on the way.

If the time and logistics can be worked out....

My Neighborhood Chesapeake Energy Red Boxcar Mystery

This morning I walked to Albertsons to get this week's Fort Worth Weekly.

On the way to Albertsons I walked by my neighborhood Chesapeake Energy Barnett Shale Natural Gas Pad Site.

In the past month or two there have been some additions added to my neighborhood Chesapeake Energy Barnett Shale Natural Gas Pad Site.

A week or two after I'd blogged about the lack of any fencing around this particular gas installation, fencing showed up. Then a few trees were planted around the perimeter.

In the past week or two a couple house trailers showed up. Along with the red boxcar-like structure you see in the center of the picture.

When the sun goes down really bright lights light up the area of the red boxcar. You can see the bright lights to the left of the red boxcar.

At night you can see what looks like exhaust smoke coming out of the red boxcar.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on with that red boxcar? And why it requires workers to move in to house trailers to monitor whatever it is that is needing monitoring?

The Tanks Predicted By The Church Of The Promise Of The Barnett Shale Have Arrived At My Neighborhood Chesapeake Energy Operation

Last Friday I blogged about being bum puzzled about What Was Happening At My Neighborhood Chesapeake Energy Natural Gas Drilling Operation?

Then The Church of the Promise of the Barnett Shale answered my bum puzzled question thusly...

Looks like the skirt around the tank battery. They will connect to the well fittings and run the gas through dehydrators to separate the gas from the nasty water, and that water will go into the tanks waiting to be hauled off. They will separate off any saleable hydrocarbons in the water and dispose of the rest, responsibly. Then Enron, I mean Chesapeake will find a way to pipeline the dry gas out for sale, being very fair about how much the lease holders share will be of the proceeds. Information brought to you by The Church of The Promise of the Barnett Shale.

Today when I stopped at my neighborhood FW Weekly purveyor I saw that The Church of the Promise of the Barnett Shale was right, at least about the tanks, because today big tanks are being lifted in to place.

If the badwater gets separated and hauled away after being separated from the gas, where does the gas go?

I'm back being bum puzzled again.

The 2nd Friday Of February In Texas With Leaking Eyes Not Caused By Hay Bales

The view is blue from my primary viewing portal on the outer world on this 2nd Friday of the 2nd month of 2012.

Already over a 3rd of this 2nd month of 2012 is history. Soon it will be Spring and shivering will be a thing of the past.

This Friday morning it is not too shiveringly cold at 11 degrees  above freezing.

I am really growing tired of whatever it is that is polluting the air that I breathe that is causing me for the first time ever to constantly require nasal spray intervention to keep my respiratory system functioning.

I have not read much of late regarding the apparent fact that children living in the Barnett Shale polluted zone have something like a 25% asthma rate, where the norm for kids in non-Barnett Shale zones is something like 9%.

The only thing I ever had any sort of allergic reaction, prior to moving to Texas, was to hay, that being hay inside of a barn. And that reaction was mild and only followed hours of playing in tunnels made with hay bales.

I have not been in a single hay bale tunnel since I have been in Texas.

An Explosive Arlington Chesapeake Energy Event During Thunderstorm Is Not Being Reported

Way back on Saturday, January 23, 2010, my next door neighbor, a Chesapeake Energy Barnett Shale Natural Gas drilling site, started making real odd explosive noises, like loud pops.

After a couple hours of hearing this I walked over to my neighbor's to take pictures and video. Just as I arrived so did the white Chesapeake Energy pickup you see in the picture.

The pickup arrived at a high rate of speed, which sort of told me that whatever was happening, that was causing the popping, was serious.

I never did learn what this particular Chesapeake malfunction was. Or if any real danger was involved. But I did blog about the incident.

Moving forward more than a year. Earlier this month I heard from a lady in Arlington, Kim Feil, who told me about a Chesapeake Energy Barnett Shale Natural Gas drilling site incident which occurred in the wee hours of April 11, 2011.

Kim Feil has been trying to get answers about what happened that night, answers from TCEQ, answers from Chesapeake Energy, answers from the Texas Railroad Commission.

So far, no real answers.

So, this morning Kim Feil sent out the following....

Dear Media, during a power loss in the storm of April 11, two TCEQ investigations are ongoing to determine why emission events occurred in the same time frame.

Please inform the public of the added risk in the gas patch with storms.

Regarding the Chesapeake, Fulson site at 5720 S Watson in SE Arlington:

On  4/11/2011 early am, the emission events have been noted as follows..... (this before I have the 911 records that have gone past my 10 day open records request).

2:30 am   (approx per Mr Loredo) spewing sound awakens neighbors
3:00         Mr. Lordeo calls 911
3:15         (per records dept) Jane Lynn's first call to 911 did not result in the dispatch of the fire department-yet was told Chk would be contacted
3:30         Councilman Rivera contacted by Jane Lynn
3:34         Fire Dept dispatched (19 minutes after Jane's first call)
3:40         Jane Lynn's second call to 911 when being sickened with fumes that filled her home. Also by that time Loredo reports the fire truck was driving around the neighborhood and pointed their light on the Chesapeake contact sign
3:50         Emission sound stopped when the Chesapeake rep went onto the padsite
4:18         Fire truck back in service

In speaking with Mr O'Quinn from Railroad Commission,  a rep visited the site on 4/14 and noted that dry gas was released when the burst plate on the separator broke apart (as designed) to release pressure.  When I told him of the reported witnesses duration of the sound being almost 1 1/2 hours, Mr. O'Quinn said that long time frame would not be the sound of depressure in a relief valve (which is a short duration sound).  This indicates to me that the well did NOT AUTO SHUT ITSELF DOWN as was reported by Arl Fire Chief Don Crowson.

So it is suspect that there was actually a failure of the computer in the automatic well shut down that explains the duration of the venting of raw, unodorized, natural gasses from approx 2:30-3:50 am which is an hour and twenty minutes.

If the well auto shut itself down, then the Chesapeake rep would not have needed to go onto the site to make the sound "go away".

Then two evenings later Chesapeake rep, Tony Rutigliano, was applying for six more wells at this site. He honestly tried to tell council that he was not sure of the events.  Generalizations of emission behaviors and questionable information about the system being closed looped and about how the auto well shut in worked, as designed, made for the need to have this tabled and investigated, however, council approved the new wells by one vote.

As I see this, the only safety feature that worked as designed was the burst plate on the separator to relieve pressure.  But if the well itself was not shut in, then gasses flowing for almost an hour and a half was a failed attempt in preventing natural gas effluents from entering the airshed and our atmosphere.

In speaking with Mr. Mallick from TCEQ, the investigation is still in process and he could only say that the reports of the emission durations matched the same time frame as the XTO/Dalworthington Gardens's event that night during the storm.  Both have been reported to have lasted around an hour and twenty minutes.

I am reporting this to the best of my ability from the sources I have received information from.

Sincerely,
Kim Feil

Walking In Village Creek Natural Gas Historic Area In Arlington This Afternoon With Elsie Hotpepper

In the picture you are looking at Village Creek in the Village Creek Natural Historic Area in Arlington, some time after 4 this afternoon.

In the picture you can see the creek, a patch of pink evening primrose wildflowers and a yellow cord.

Cords of various colors are strung all over the Natural Area.

Somehow manmade cords don't seem all that natural to me, sort of out of place in a Natural Area.

Maybe the correct name for this park zone should be Village Creek Natural Gas Historic Area.

Because that is what the multi-colored cords are for. Doing seismic testing of the Barnett Shale to see if the Village Creek Natural Historic Area is a good drilling zone.

All the Indians murdered in this area, murdered by the incoming Texans, must be rolling over in their collective graves at what their village has become. First a park. And now a gas drilling site.

I must leave you now to do the bidding of the ever demanding Elsie Hotpepper, who is being particularly hot today.

Arkansas Is Shaken By Earthquakes Around Shale Drilling Operations

Formerly mostly earthquake-free Arkansas has been doing some shaking of late.

This shaking coming after letting Chesapeake Energy, and others, poke a lot of holes in the Arkansas Fayetteville Shale.

It seems each time the earth quakes in these areas getting drilled it's like a mystery whether or not there is a correlation.

Steve Horton, an earthquake specialist at the University of Memphis and hydrologic technician with the U.S. Geological Survey, is worried by a correlation between the Arkansas earthquake swarm and a side effect of the drilling: the disposal of wastewater in injection wells.

"Ninety percent of these earthquakes, that have happened since 2009, have been within 6 kilometers of these salt water disposal wells. The timing is too coincidental to ignore," Horton said.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a 4.7-magnitude quake at 11 p.m. Sunday, centered just northeast of Greenbrier, about 40 miles north of Little Rock. It was the largest of more than 800 quakes to strike the area since September in what is now being called the Guy-Greenbrier earthquake swarm.

Despite earthquakes shaking in pretty much all the areas where shale drilling and fracturing is taking place, there are still legions of drillers being the cause deniers.

From an article about the Arkansas quakes, "Scientists are slow to draw conclusions on any subject, and despite years of speculation, there is still little consensus about whether the practice is contributing to the quakes."

The same lack of consensus regarding drilling caused quakes exists here in Texas.

In 2009, the small town of Cleburne, Texas, experienced the first recorded earthquake in Cleburne's 140-year history, quickly followed by another four shortly afterwards. Many experiencing the shaking quickly concluded the Barnett Shale drilling was causing it.

"I think John Q. Public thinks there is a correlation with drilling," Cleburne Mayor, Ted Reynolds, said. "We haven't had a quake in recorded history, and all the sudden you drill and there are earthquakes."

Yeah, it really is a big puzzle and mystery as to what is causing all the earthquakes where, previously, the earth stood fairly still.

The Germans Are Coming To Fort Worth & Want To Talk To You About Your Barnett Shale Experience

According to Don Young, Germans will be invading North Texas next week in the form of reporters and photographers from ARD German Television and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

They are looking for people to tell their story about the Barnett Shale.

I don't have a story about the Barnett Shale, that I know of.

Well, there was the time I was almost killed by Express Energy. Was that the name? It's been a long time since I had bad encounters with white pickup trucks.

Anyway, below is the message from Don Young in its entirety, along with the email address to facilitate contacting DY.

Do you have a story to tell about living on top of the Barnett Shale?

Reporters and photographers from ARD German Television AND the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette will be in Fort Worth early next week.

They are looking for compelling stories from the Barnett Shale.

If you would like to be interviewed please send me your contact info and time of availability, ASAP.

Thanks-

Don

Big Boys In Tulsa Plotting Texas Town Attacks

A few minutes ago Elsie Hotpepper sent me the link to the below video.

It is an amusing video.

But will likely only be amusing to others, like me, who live in the Barnett Shale zone and who see the nefarious shenanigans of the Barnett Shale Natural Gas Drillers and the various government agencies and entities the gas drillers have corrupted, co-opted and compromised to the detriment of the citizens living in the killing zones. I mean drilling zones.

Finding Wildscapes Under A Barnett Shale Drilling Operation In Pappy Elkins Park In Dalworthington Gardens

With no bike to ride I decided to go to Veterans Park to do me some walking and contemplating. The Barnett Shale Natural Gas Drilling Rig is back making noise for the apartment dwellers who used to lived in a quiet peaceful location across from Veterans Park.

I really was not too much into the walking today. I'm feeling a bit downtrodden, or trodden down. One of the residents of the aforementioned apartments had mentioned, to me, a nearby lake. I tried to find the lake after that. The resident wondered if the gas drillers were going to be sucking water from the nearby lake. Between my last attempt to find this mysterious lake and today, I consulted a map. I found the lake easily.

The lake is in Pappy Elkins Park. I do not know if it is Pappy Elkins Lake. I do know you can fish in the lake. I do not know if you can eat the fish you catch. I also know you are forbidden to wade or swim in the lake.

As you can see, the shale drilling operation is right next to the lake. A road took me right to the gas drilling operation.

From the up close perspective the drilling operation appears further from the apartments than the perspective from Veterans Park. But it certainly is no where near 800 feet distant.

Now, where it gets sort of interesting is Veterans Park, and, I assume, the apartments, are located in Arlington. Pappy Elkins Park, and, I assume, the gas drilling operation, are in Dalworthington Gardens, which is a tiny town surrounding by Arlington. So, with the gas rig in one town and the apartments in another, do the distance rules not apply?

Now, looking at the above photo, make note of the brown item, in the lower right, in front of the supposed sound barrier that surrounds the drilling operation.

Now we are right under the brown item, with the gas drilling tower hovering above. The sign says "DWG Wildscapes." Now, isn't that ironic? A Barnett Shale Natural Gas Drilling Operation sits were Pappy Elkins Park had a Wildscape, similar, I assume, to Veterans Park's Xeriscape.

Above is a map from which you can figure out how to get to Pappy Elkins Park if you are in the area and want to see a lake you've not seen before.

L’exploitation Du Gaz Au Texas With French Buying 25% Of Chesapeake Energy

Interesting incoming from Don Young via France....

In April, 2010, Radio France International sent reporter, Murielle Paradon, to north Texas to tape interviews for a report on natural gas in the Barnett Shale, or as they say in France, "le gaz de schist."

(Photo above from Muriella Paradon's report of a Gas Drilling operation in Denton, Texas)

Why would people in France be interested in the Barnett? In January, Total, the French energy giant acquired 25% of Chesapeake Energy's Barnett shale assets for 2.25 billion. Total said it is "conscious of the environment impact and is confident in Chesapeake's ability to contain any damage." I wouldn't bet the chateau on that, Francois.

Murielle caught up with me on April 24 at Prairie Fest in Fort Worth. She also toured a gas rig and visited a playground-park in Denton and various other folks in the region. My French is not so good, but I'm pretty sure this report is one of those that tries to tell both sides of the issue.

Click on the small, red "headphone" button labeled "Ecouter" to listen in French.

Below is a slightly fractured translated English excerpt:

Exploitation of gas in Texas
By Murielle Paradon

It is the new gold rush in the United States: the schist gas. Natural gas enclosed in the rock, that the companies are from now on able to extract, thanks to novel methods: horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing. Thanks to that, the United States became into 2010 the first gas producers in the world, in front of Russia. The gas producer companies drill from now on with all goes. In Texas, where is most productive the schist gas layer of the United States, Barnett shale, the companies do not hesitate to install their derricks downtown full. What is not without posing problems with the local population. Between the environmental noise pollutions and risks, anger goes up.

My Chesapeake Energy Quiet Sick Zone

I don't know if I'm sick. But I feel sick. I went to bed early last night, dead tired. Woke up tired and feeling like I'd been hit in the gut.

This morning, when I tried to read, my eyes burned like lemon juice was being squirted at me.

Yesterday my next door Chesapeake Energy Barnett Shale Natural Gas well site was acting up, making weird popping noises. Eventually a Chesapeake Energy truck showed up and the popping noises stopped.

This was the second popping noise incident. I've no idea what makes the popping noise. But I do know when the Chesapeake Energy truck shows up the security gate is opened very quickly and the driver drives on to the site at high speed, which sort of indicates to me that the popping noise is something serious.

I think I'll get out of here earlier than my norm and see if generating some endorphins with some aerobic activity has a salubrious effect on my current state of non well being.

The Texas Champion Of Natural Gas Chesapeake Energy

The Texas Champion of Natural Gas, Chesapeake Energy, sends out an E-Newsletter called Barnett Bulletin.

The latest Barnett Bulletin has some interesting information about Chesapeake Energy and the good deeds the company has been up to.

Like in Euless. There used to be a sports bar in Euless called Gators. It was very popular, very successful. It was one of Gar the Texan's favorite places to sing and consume adult beverages. Attached to Gators was a Ramada Inn that had closed down.

A couple years ago, for reasons that made no sense to me, the City of Euless shut down Gators.

And now in this Barnett Bulletin I learn what Chesapeake Energy did to Gators.

Property sees new life at familiar location in Euless

Just recently, two properties in Euless experienced a much-needed “face-lift” when Chesapeake Energy had the buildings demolished by Midwest Wrecking and the area cleaned up.

Located at Hwy. 183 and Murray , the former Ramada Inn and nearby Gator’s Restaurant had become an unattractive part of the landscape over time, due to neglect.

“It’s been an eyesore for a long time,” said Bedford resident Lloyd Hicks. “Now we’ll have beautiful greenery to look at until something else goes in,” added Hicks.

With the help and support of community leaders and various city staff, Chesapeake continues restoring blighted properties to more acceptable standards, allowing the best and highest use of each.

Okay, how is it that Chesapeake Energy "had" buildings demolished in Euless? Is Chesapeake Energy now the shadow government of Euless like it is in Fort Worth?

And in another part of the Barnett Bulletin I learned that Chesapeake Energy is now working with the Fort Worth Independent School District, which would seem to render that independent word a bit ironic.

School may be out, but the learning and fun don't have to stop!

With Chesapeake’s support, the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Independent School District have created a fun and educational program for students to enjoy during the summer.

Yesterday we learned that DISH mayor, Calvin Tillman, is considering leaving DISH to escape the hazards brought to his town, courtesy of Chesapeake Energy and others.

But in the Barnett Bulletin we learn there is nothing wrong in DISH.

State-conducted health study shows no pattern of contamination in DISH

Texas Department of State Health Services study shows no sign of "community-wide" exposure for DISH, Texas residents.

Yes, all the Texas state agencies have a very solid record of doing un-biased, accurate testing in their ever vigilant looking out for the welfare of the citizens of Texas.

The Toxin-Free Future Of DISH Mayor Calvin Tilllman

That is DISH, Texas Mayor Calvin Tillman, on the right, in front of the Tarrant County Courthouse, early on the morning of March 4, 2010, attending the Carter Avenue Rescue Operation rally.

DISH has not been treated well by the state of Texas and the Barnett Shale Natural Gas Drilling Industry.

DISH has three metering stations, 11 compressor stations, and over 20 pipelines, in less than 2 square miles. This makes for a lot of noise and pollution and property disruption in a very small area.

And serious health issues.

Yesterday Mayor Tillman blogged about just how dire the DISH situation had become for him. The last sentence said to please feel free to share with others.

And so I am....

It is with great difficulty that I post this message.

There have been many of you that have supported me through our battle to save this tiny community. Some of you have supported me for several years now. Some of you have donated to the town’s legal fees, and I appreciate that support. However, I am reaching my breaking point in the fight. On the surface it would appear that this tiny community has won the battle, and in many aspects that is accurate. We have greatly improved the noise level, the aesthetics, and apparently the air quality at the natural gas compressor site. If you were to look at many similar facilities throughout this area, you will find that we likely are home to one the nicest, if not the nicest compressor sites in the entire Barnett Shale. However, we are now starting to get some interesting water out of our water wells. There will be more on our water troubles soon. One thing that troubles me is that almost every night the levels spike in chemicals detected by continuous air monitor that coincides with the odor that we have grown accustomed to.

The continuous air monitor shows us that our air is not toxic and in some cases it is good. However, with the nightly spikes and odor issues, I still have concerns. When these odor events happen, I still get the same old scratchy throat and burning eyes that coincides with the odor. That is not the biggest problem that concerns me. The biggest problem that concerns me is that one of my children frequently is awakened with a nose bleed, an this also seems to coincide with the odor. The monitor shows spikes, but none of the things like benzene gets too elevated. It is possible that something that is not tested for is causing the nosebleeds, or maybe this is just coincidence, but it disturbs me nonetheless. Therefore, it is very likely that I will put my house on the market in the very near future to ensure my children's safety. It is very likely that this will cost me tens of thousands of dollars, but I this point I am considering cutting my losses and just moving on. It is very clear that our state agencies are only in existence to protect the industry, not the general public, so in my view it would be best to be somewhere that you do not need to count on these agencies for your protection.

It is unlikely that the house will sell, even at a bargain, and until it sells it will be my primary residence and therefore, I will remain the mayor of DISH. As long as I am the mayor of DISH, decisions will be made as though I will live here forever. I will do everything in my power to continue helping and supporting the citizens of this community. However, if by some miracle, someone was willing to purchase the property, I would then be forced to resign as mayor. This does not mean that I would walk away from this issue completely; it is just that I would not be able to be in the battle as an elected official, which may hurt my effectivity on the matter.

This option is not set in stone and we could still possibly go in a different direction. There are also a number of questions, such as where am I going to move? Is it worth buying property in Texas, knowing what I now know? How far will the commute be if I can find a place where there is confidence in the air and water quality? So this may or may not happen. It may be that we move into an apartment or a condo, and keep our primary residence in DISH, and just maintain an additional household until the air clears. But currently I am extremely concerned about the health of my children.

There are several things that must be accomplished prior to putting the house on the market, so it will likely be a while before it is listed. In the meanwhile I will be thinking about way that I can can stay involved in this issue. It is also very unlikely that I will be able to sell it for anywhere near what it should be worth. My home is modest, but it sits on six acres, is fenced for horses and has two horse barns. I will try to find comparable property outside of the Barnett Shale and compare to what mine will be on the market for. This may be a very good illustration of exactly how bad this activity can hurt property values, if not accomplished responsibly.

I tell you this so that there is no confusion when word gets out that my house in on the market. We have accomplished many things here in DISH; we have built a nice park, finished out our town hall building, and will soon have one of the nicest libraries in this area, and that will be tough to walk away from. I also have a wonderful group of citizens that have been extremely supportive, who I will fight for till the end. All of this talk may be for nothing, but I wanted all of the good people who have helped and supported me to know the story, before the nasty rumors begin. Thanks again for everything, and please know that I will not stop doing the things I am doing no matter what happens. Please feel free to share with others.

My Chesapeake Energy Neighbor Has Returned

This morning, early, I started hearing what sounded like the bangs and booms of a construction project.

A few minutes ago I went outside to do some contemplating whilst sitting on the picnic table, one of my favorite contemplating spots.

I was barely into contemplating mode when I heard a bang and turned around to see that today's bangs and booms were being brought, again, courtesy of Chesapeake Energy and the Barnett Shale Natural Gas Drilling operation across the street from where I live.

I guess it must be time to freshly frack the well. I believe this happens several times during a well's lifespan. Or maybe this isn't fracking, maybe it's a new drilling operation. It did appear that pipe was being shoved downward, with that guy you see in the picture appearing to be directing something.

I hope this is not an around the clock operation like the initial drilling was. I suspect it will be, though, with an army of trucks delivering water, soon to follow.

Living In GASLAND In Texas With Josh Fox & Others

You are looking at the sort of thing we Citizens of the Shale, as in Barnett Shale, can fear coming out of our water faucets. Unodorized natural gas. That goes to flame.

Of course, the gas drilling industry does not acknowledge that such things happen. No matter who gets burned.

A guy named Josh Fox set out to document what's happening around the world, due to the now wide practice of using new technology, to do this process called fracturing, to a formerly stable layer of shale, in order to release trapped natural gas.

I have one of these fractured operations going on across the street from where I live. So far, no fire has come out of my water faucets.

The Josh Fox documentary, about the Shale Fracturing, GASLAND the movie, has been winning film festival prizes and is now being shown around the globe, including last night at the Museum of Modern Art in Fort Worth.

It was a gala affair. I can not remember the last affair I've attended that was more gala. I also do not recollect seeing Elsie Hotpepper attired in red carpet worthy fashion, before last night, nor myself, with a bow tie. Like I said. Gala affair.

Watch the YouTube video below to get an idea of what GASLAND the movie is all about...

It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World In Fort Worth Texas

Saturday night, recovering from my fist fight with my bedroom wall, I watched Turner Classic Movies Essentials. On Saturday the movie was Judgment at Nuremberg.

Judgment at Nuremberg is a fictionalized account of the Nuremberg trials, yet based on facts. In this movie the really bad Nazi boys have already met their fate with the hangman. It is a group of Third Reich judges who are being judged in the Judgment at Nuremberg.

There is a scene in the movie where Spencer Tracy is pondering the conundrum of how it is that good men can be corrupted, by the state, to the point of going along with doing bad deeds.

Spencer Tracy recollects how, in the small town in America in which he had been elected to be a judge, it was made well known to him that there are certain people in town who are off limits from judicial scrutiny.

Sort of like how Fort Worth's Mayor Mike Moncrief seems to be safe from judicial scrutiny, despite being on the take to the tune of 100s of thousands of dollars a year from the Barnett Shale natural gas drillers operating in Fort Worth.

Or how some judges operating in the Barnett Shale zone, seem to be taking their orders from the local Nazi equivalents, that being entities, like Chesapeake Energy, running rough shod over Texas citizens, abusing eminent domain, to take property to force non-odorized, high pressure, natural gas under homes, via pipelines, which have been known to explode.

Stanley Kramer directed Judgment at Nuremberg. Judgment at Nuremberg was released in 1961. In 1963 Stanley Kramer released It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. It seems to me that this could have been used as the title for Judgment at Nuremberg.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World would be a great title if any latter day Stanley Kramer shoots a movie about the corruption in North Texas, with the focus being on the Eminent Domain Abuse Capital of the World, that being Fort Worth and Tarrant County, with all the willful ignoring of all the dire data, now pouring in, about just how bad and how dangerous all the bad toxins are that are being spewed into the Barnett Shale atmosphere, courtesy of all those Bad Boys who operate in cooperation with Fort Worth's corrupt mayor and the corrupt city government he oversees. And the corrupt Texas agencies which are supposed to oversee safeguarding the public safety. But don't.

Where is the FBI in this Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World I'm living in? Where is the EPA? Why are criminals exempt from being punished for the crimes they commit in the Eminent Domain Abuse Capital of the World?

I've said it before and I'll say it again

I don't get it.

What Is In My Fort Worth Neighborhood's Chesapeake Energy Ponds?

I live near a road in Fort Worth called Randol Mill Road. Randol Mill Road meanders all over the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. At one point in time there must have been a business called the Randol Mill, with a lot of roads leading to it.

Back when I first moved to my current location, at that point in time, where Randol Mill Road is met by Oakland Boulevard, there was a baseball field complex on the north side of Randol Mill.

And then a few years ago Chesapeake Energy began its Blitzkrieg on Fort Worth and Tarrant County. Eventually, the Chesapeake Blitzkrieg hit the ballfields at Oakland & Randol Mill.

After the ballfields and ballfield buildings were obliterated, Chesapeake Energy buildings began to appear, growing into a large complex.

A short time ago I was heading east on Randol Mill when I came upon a sign warning me that some street cleaning was taking place. What's making the road dirty, I wondered? And then I saw the Blitzkrieg army of trucks driving on to and out of the Chesapeake property, bringing with them a lot of dirt and mud, which is what the street cleaning was cleaning up.

This went on for days. The muddy street business. I was curious what was going on behind those closed Chesapeake doors.

So, I positioned a satellite into place and took some pictures. In the first one, at the top, you can see where Oakland Boulevard meets Randol Mill at the lower right. Across the street you see the area Chesapeake has commandeered. You can see the Trinity River meandering around the Chesapeake property. Let's move in for a closer look.

You can see several manmade ponds of various sizes and color. What is in these ponds, one can not help but wonder? Is this what those trucks were bringing in? Water to pump in these ponds? Or were the trucks taking water out of the ponds?

As you can see, in this close-up of one of the ponds, it appears to be heavily fortified with a thick lining, which again can't help but cause one to wonder what is in that pond. And what is in the little pond to the right?

Who monitors these ponds to make sure they are not leaking into the Trinity River? Anyone?

DISH Mayor Calvin Tillman & Texas Sharon Mapping Methane In The Barnett Shale Unmarked Natural Gas Spy Van

Texas Sharon was unable to attend Thursday's Carter Avenue Rescue Operation Rally in downtown Fort Worth due to having important undercover work to do.

Texas Sharon explained what she was up to and profusely apologized for her absence, yesterday, on her blog and in emails. No need to apologize, her presence was felt, even if she wasn't there.

Texas Sharon, and cohorts, have been surreptitiously spying on various Barnett Shale natural gas drilling operations and using high-tech equipment inside an unmarked Spy Van, to conduct their surveillance.

The photo above is a partial look at the Spy Van. As you can see, DISH Mayor Calvin Tillman is part of the operation. Mayor Tillman took a break from the surveillance to attend the CARO Rally, leaving Texas Sharon behind to help with the monitoring. I believe that is Texas Sharon you can see behind the window in the passenger seat of the Spy Van.

Below is a YouTube video showing the Methane Mapping Spy Van in action....

Recipe For Successful Drilling In Barnett Shale Communities & Towns

TXsharon thought the following information might be useful to anyone in any of the natural gas drilling shale zones.

Is your community or town plagued with out of control drilling and rapid issuance of new drilling permits? If so, I have a simple recipe with simple steps you can follow to success.

1. Download Drill-Right Texas: Best Oil & Gas Development Practices for Texas.

2. Print out and distribute a copy for each city council member and each member of the planning and zoning committee.

3. Sign up for the citizens' agenda at your next city council meeting and ask for a moratorium on new projects until all the Drill-Right Texas best practices are addressed with the city's ordinances.

If your city council happens to be addressing an application to drill at that meeting, ask the following 3 questions:

1. Has the applicant mapped where the pipelines will go and how they will tie into larger transmission pipelines?

2. Has the applicant detailed their emission controls during drilling activities and on the stationary equipment and compressors they will leave at the drill site?

3. Has the applicant disclosed where the water they will use will come from, what chemicals additives will go into the water and how they will dispose of or treat all the waste water from the site.

These questions must be answered before approving any permits.
