Linda Lou Declares Biden Win While Colorfully Celebrating In Lucy Park

Soon after I got a text message from Linda Lou saying "Biden Declared President! Thank God!!!" I decided to take that good news with me to Lucy Park for a salubrious communing with nature.

Til walking the Lucy Park trails I had not realized last week's freeze had brought Fall a month late, with the leaves in the trees going into full color mode, with many leaves shed, covering the ground at various locations.

I got back to my home location precisely at noon. I woke up my computer and soon saw something on Facebook which sort of mirrored some of what I was thinking whilst walking in Lucy Park...

"Idiot trump voters. For the next 4 years educate yourself. Take classes in civics, psychology, and logic. If you claim to be Christian do studies in Jesus's teachings so you know how to treat immigrants and people of color, like Jesus was..."

The next couple months are going to likely be disturbingly interesting.

But it sure is nice to finally see some light ahead after such a long time spent in such a dark tunnel...

A Colorful Hike With The Tandy Hills Fall Foliage Before Town Talk Treasure Hunting

Rain is predicted to possibly fall, tomorrow, so I thought today would be a mighty fine time to haul myself to the Tandy Hills to do some communing with the natural world.

As you can see, the Tandy Hills are currently being a colorful wonderland of  the non-wildflower type of colorful.

I do not recollect the Tandy Hills fall foliage being as deeply colorful in falls past. I'm likely just not remembering correctly.

Or, have conditions been such, what with the Great Texas Drought, recording breaking temperatures and who knows what else, that more saturated coloring is the result?

I should inquire of renowned Fort Worth Horticulturist, CatsPaw, if she knows the answer to this colorful question.

This morning the outer world temperature was above 50 when I woke up my computer before the sun arrived. Being above 50 had my averaging 50 or above over a 24 hour period criteria met for a morning swim. The water was a bit chillier this morning than yester morn, requiring three hot tub cycles.

After hiking up a hill or two or three I drove to the Beach Street Walmart, since it is the Walmart closest to the Tandy Hills and I needed to get a Walmart product I forgot to get yesterday. My route back to my abode from the Beach Street Walmart takes me past Town Talk, so I had myself a semi-rare Wednesday Town Talk treasure hunt.

Today I did not find much Town Talk treasure, other than some extra sharp white cheddar, rye tortillas, chipotle sirloin burgers and another pre-cooked beef product.

Town Talk on Saturday should be a busy zoo, what with it being the last Saturday before Thanksgiving. So, on Saturday I should be having myself a mighty fine time at Town Talk.

It takes so little to entertain me.....

Hiking Hilly Texas Prairie With Towering Hoodoos Before Finding Borscht

In the photo you are looking east across the Tandy Hills Natural Area prairie at the Fort Worth Space Needle, also known as Tandy Tower and its sister towers of lesser height.

The foliage has become more colorful since I was last on the Tandy Hills, a week ago. Many leaves have decided to turn on the fall color, with some still resisting and remaining green.

There was no muddy sign, on any of the trails I traversed today, of Wednesday's mini-deluge. I was not sure that would be the case, but decided the Tandy Hills were my go to place today, even if there was a slight chance of mud.

If you are reading this and are a local, as in someone living in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex zone, and you have never hiked the Tandy Hills, now would be your perfect time to do so. Perfect temperature, perfect trails, perfect prairie and even though it is now November there are still wildflowers adding that type color to the fall colors.

The towering Tandy Hoodoo which leans over the intersection of the View Street Trail and the Trail to Tandy Falls remains towering, as you can see. I had some concern that recent winds would have toppled the Tandy Hills newest  monument.

Upon completing the hill hiking, because it is Saturday, I was off to Town Talk to do some treasure hunting.

Today the most unusual thing I got at Town Talk was 3 jars of Borscht. The label claims the Borscht is all-natural. The only ingredients are beets, water, sugar and salt. By all-natural does that mean it was made in Russia? I did not look long enough at the label to determine the country of origin.

I also got a big block of jalapeno jack cheese, two tubs of artisan lettuce, steak burritos, blue corn tortillas and tomatoes.

The only time I remember having Borscht was years ago at Pike Place Market in Seattle at a Russian food purveyor's place.

One more look, from today, of the fall colors coloring up the Tandy Hills....

Walking Around Fort Worth's Fosdic Lake Looking At Colorful Trees & Possible Alligators

Fosdic Fall Freeze Leaves Trees New Color
In the past few days we have had the first freeze of the fall. The freeze has the leaves in the trees putting on their annual fall foliage display of colors brighter  than the usual green.

Like the tree in the picture. Taken today at Oakland Lake Park where I went to walk around Fosdic Lake.

The temperature in the outer world, at my location, in the noon time frame, was almost 50. Little wind. No windbreaking jacket or wool cap required.

Currently it is 54 at half past 3 in the afternoon.

There were a lot of ducks flocking on Fosdic Lake today. They looked like they were having themselves a real fine time.

You have likely noticed I am suffering from extremely low energy lately. This malady has been maladizing me for a couple days now. I believe I am being allergic to something. Like the dirty air I get to breathe in this formerly totally parched part of the planet.

Speaking of which, I picked up this week's Fort Worth Weekly on my way back to my abode from Fosdic Lake. I see this week's featured/cover story is titled Dirty Air Through Rose-Colored Glasses. Apparently Environmentalists and TCEQ see different things in North Texas air pollution.

A Possible Gator Encounter On Fosdic Lake
The Dirty Air article is written by that nice young lady I met at the TRIP forum in the Botanic Gardens a couple months ago, Gayle Reaves.

Changing the subject back to Fosdic Lake and Giant Lizards.

For a second or two I thought I was seeing an alligator at the edge of the lake today.

I have what are technically known as Old Geezer Eyes. This can cause confusion due to blurry vision. I am almost 100% certain that that which looked like a gator was actually a log.

However, I did notice that the Fosducks were steering clear of this log.
