The screen cap from today's Fort Worth Star-Telegram, which you see above, is a variant of our patented theme of seeing something in an online west coast news source that one would not expect to see in a Texas online news source.

Usually, the west coast news source is the Seattle Times, with the Texas news source being the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

In today's case it is seeing something in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, about something in Fort Worth, that one would not expect to see in the Seattle Times about a similar thing in Seattle.

If I remember correctly, the Ku Kluz Klan was active in Fort Worth as recently as the 1960s. 

Methinks finding oneself seeing a group like this in person would be scary, almost as scary as finding oneself facing a group of Nazi Gestapo.

Or a group of Putin Russians...

The State Fair of Texas and the Ku Klux Klan

The State Fair of Texas will be starting up in about a week, running from September 26 through October 19. It's in Dallas at what is called Fair Park. That's where the Cotton Bowl is. Football gets played in the Cotton Bowl. During the Fair, Texas plays Oklahoma in what always seems to be a big deal here.

The Cotton Bowl has had millions of bucks spent on it to renovate it from its run-down state to a new shiny state of near perfection with more seats, more restrooms, more room and more places to eat.

If you've never been to the State Fair of Texas you should make the effort. It'll be good for you to do something non-sedentary for one day of the year. Wandering around the Texas State Fair can be exhausting. Wear comfortable shoes.
