RSVP My Beto Victory Party Tonight

Henry F.'s favorite uncle, my favorite nephew Jason, also known as Spencer J.'s dad, texted me this afternoon asking that which you see here.

Even if Texas continues its streak of Zero Days without being a National Embarrassment by re-electing Creepy Cruz, who the Houston Chronicle characterized as having a repellent personality, Beto O'Rourke still wins, because his race to return sanity to Texas has made him a national, and international figure.

If Beto does defeat Cruz there will be celebrating tonight in Texas, and across America.

The deplorable sorts who don't get why most Americans, and probably most Texans, are repelled by Cruz, due to his multiple reptilian attributes, will not be able to comprehend why a Beto win would be a win for all that is good about America.

During the course of this current election I have heard from many people from other states asking about Cruz. None of those I have heard from can comprehend why Texans elected the smarmy Canadian Cuban American Cruz in the first place, and totally do not get why they would re-elect him.

Just the sound of his voice repels many people. Let alone the words that voice utters.

The utter idiocy of some of the Cruz supporters which I see reflected on my Facebook feed is truly troubling. Total cluelessness. How, the deplorables ask, can Texans support someone like Beto, a candidate of the sort failed states like New York and California would support and have supported via contributing to the Beto campaign.

Yes, I have read morons referring to New York and California as failed states. Because, don't you know, oodles of New Yorkers and Californians have escaped their state's failed policies by running to Texas, where they are so stupid they now want to impose, via electing Beto, the same type socialist Venezuelan type government that has ruined New York and California.

I am not making this up. There are actually Texans stupid enough to believe such things. Too ignorant to know the California economy is doing quite well. California schools perform well, unlike Texas schools, which perform at the bottom of the American states. Many of the Californians and New Yorkers, and those from other states who move to Texas, do so because successful businesses in their states are expanding or opening new operations in Texas.

My old home state of Washington also sees a lot of Californians moving there, for the same reason, with Facebook and Google and others opening operations in Washington. Those Californians are not moving to Washington to escape those horrible progressive liberal California ways, what with Washington being even more progressive and liberal than California.

Texas suffers due to the poor education of many of its citizens, with the resulting wanton ignorance being reflected in the nonsense they spout about someone like Beto O'Rourke being just too Blue for Red Texas, with zero awareness that millions of Texans are just as Blue as me. Or Bluer.

I'm hoping for a good outcome tonight. But, I am prepared to be disappointed...

This Morning I Voted After Trying To Get Texas To Let An Elderly Lady Vote For Beto

I knew when I exited Texas early in October that if all went as planned I would be back in Texas in time to vote on the last day of Early Voting.

And so I did so today.

This is the last day of Early Voting, isn't it? Or am I erroneous in that assumption?

No line waiting to vote in the Sikes Senter mall in which I do my voting, usually, unless the voting is relocated to some difficult to find location, which has happened twice since I have been voting in Wichita Falls.

There was only one person ahead of me, trying to vote, but the person who determines voting eligibility denied this person a ballot.

This was an elderly lady, looking to be at least 80, maybe in her 90s. She seemed to be firing on all cylinders. She said she had registered to vote online. The voting eligibility person told the elderly lady Texas had no online voter registering option.

I recollect that earlier in this election cycle there was some issue with people thinking they were registering to vote in Texas via an online method which was ruled not valid.

I asked the lady who was blocking the elderly lady from voting if she could vote via a provisional ballot, with her eligibility to vote to be determined later.

I was told there was no such provisional ballot means of voting.

I found this extremely offputting.

After voting I easily caught up with the elderly lady and asked why she was not already registered.

She said she'd move to Texas from Oklahoma five years ago. That she had been registered to vote in Oklahoma, and this was the first Texas election in which she felt compelled to vote.

And that she thought she had successfully registered to vote via an online sign up means.

Like I said, this lady fired on all cylinders, despite nearing being a century old.

I asked if her motivation had something to do with the Texas senate race.

Yes, she said, she wanted to vote for Beto. And that she finds Ted Cruz repulsive, as do most decent humans.

To deny this lady the ability to vote seems so wrong to me. How can the various states be so different regarding being allowed to vote? In Oregon if you are a citizen of the state, are 18 years old, you are mailed a ballot. You have to opt out of receiving a ballot, if you don't want one mailed to you.

To vote in Texas you have to go through a registration rigmarole. Then when you go to vote you have to show ID and your voter registration card. This time the ID was scanned by a new device I had not previously seen.

In Washington I was always mailed a ballot. I could opt to go to a polling place, or mail in my ballot.

In Arizona, my mom, who can not see, was mailed a ballot whilst I was there. I helped mom vote. Kyrsten Sinema for the win! And David Garcia.

It will be a relief to have this election over and done with. The mudslinging ads in Arizona were bizarre. And then the one night in New Mexico seeing New Mexico political ads, same thing. I am assuming since I am currently in a deeply red, backwards part of Texas, not much money is being spent on spewing mudslinging ads on the TV stations which serve this zone.

Though last night I thrice saw an absurdly stupid propaganda ad, aimed at morons, which ended with VOTE REPUBLICAN.

America's Most Reviled Cuban Canadian Coming To Wichita Falls Tomorrow With Trump Jr.

The Cuban Canadian many Americans believe to be the creepiest Senator in the United States, he being Texas Senator Rafael Edwardo Cruz, who changed his name to "Ted" so as to influence apparently easily fooled Texans into thinking he was a good 'ol Anglo type Texan, is coming to Wichita Falls tomorrow, around 3 in the afternoon.

Rafael will be in Wichita Falls with the eldest son of the man who informed America that Cruz's papa was in Dallas in November of 1963 murdering President John F. Kennedy.

Yes, that's right, Rafael "Ted" Cruz is coming to town with Donald Trump Jr. to rally Cruz kool-aiders at some venue in the MPEC in downtown Wichita Falls. (Those four MPEC initials stand for Multi-Purpose Event Center).

One has to have an entry ticket to attend this event. As of this morning around 900 had requested tickets. The venue holds 1000.

There are a lot of intelligent, well-informed, decent minded, creepiness averse Wichita Falls natives who have stuck BETO signs on their yards and vehicles in support of the man America hopes kicks Cruz out of the senate, Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke.

A cadre of BETO supporters is assembling at the local Democrat Party Headquarters on Kemp Boulevard today in order to make signs to hold whilst assembling outside the MPEC venue where Cruz will be spewing his creepy nonsense, along with equally greasy, Trump Jr.

I have been asked to attend this BETO counter rally. I declined the invite. I don't think it is a good idea, this BETO counter rally, as such would seem to have multiple ways of going in a sideways direction wreaking unpleasantness.

Anyway, that meme you see at the top really does nail the Cruz hypocrisy---

Beto Willie Rally Recovery With Wichita Falls Sikes Lake

It's Monday.

I am almost recovered from Friday's Beto O'Rourke Willie Nelson Rally in Austin.

Biggest political rally to take place this year in America. I read somewhere it was way back in 2008, at an Obama rally, which drew more people than Friday's Beto Event.

I remember the time previous to the Beto Rally where I suffered a claustrophobic panic attack due to being crammed in close space with too many people.

Way back in 1986 at Expo 86 in Vancouver, B.C., pushed like sardines in a crush of humans making for the exits at closing time. I regularly have a nightmare based on that crushing 1986 experience. I have yet to have a Beto Rally nightmare.

Before I change the subject I feel compelled to say attending a Beto Rally gives one hope for America. And Texas. That truth, justice, kindness and decency are on the march across America. I am likely characteristically being overly optimistic, which is my nature, just like Brett Kavanaugh, always seeing the beer keg as half full.

Anyway...

A week from today, if all goes according to schedule I will be driving on Highway 60, somewhere between Socorro, New Mexico and Phoenix, Arizona.

I am not too fondly looking forward to this road trip to the west. The previous road trip to Arizona, in July of 2017, was just a little traumatic.

This morning I felt the need to get some soothing endorphins via mild aerobic stimulation.

So, I rolled my bike to Midwestern State University to enjoy the scenic serenity of the inland sea known as Sikes Lake. As you can see, above, clouds added to the scenery.

Hundreds of geese, ducks and swans were also enjoying the scenic serenity.

And then a testing of the tornado sirens erupted, sending the flocks of geese, ducks, swans, and me, into startled panic mode. 

Unlike the geese, ducks and swans I did not take flight. Instead I came to a quick halt.

I return from Arizona two days before Halloween. And then before you know it the dreaded Holiday Season will be in full swing, with Thanksgiving on the horizon, with, hopefully, a Big Blue Wave among that for which we can all be thankful...

Ahead Of Tonight's Debate BETO Signs Sprouting Like Mushrooms In Wichita Falls

Rain has been falling off and on at various levels since an hour or two before last night's setting of the sun.

This morning's short drive to ALDI went through multiple instances of plowing past areas where the street is flooded.

Upon my return to my abode I decided to take a short walk under my favorite bumbershoot.

Eventually I came upon that which you see here, on Taft Boulevard, a BETO FOR U.S. SENATE sign under the sign of my neighborhood's favorite Attorney at Law.

Last week, or the week before, on Facebook, in response to someone commenting on the HUGE number of BETO signs being seen in that person's particular DFW neighborhoods, one of the worst cases I have experienced of the Dunning/Kruger Effect pompously informed us of Political Fact #2: Signs do not Vote.

I did not recollect anyone suggesting that signs were able to vote. I did recollect someone suggesting the number of BETO signs is reflective of the BETO phenomenon which has made a lot of Texans feel optimistic some semblance of sanity may be returning to their state.

That same pompous Dunning/Kruger-ite also opined that BETO was scared to debate Cruz, after BETO rejected Cruz's insistence on his side controlling all aspects of the debates, as in time, subject, moderator, location. With Cruz's plan being for all debates to be on Friday night, when many Texans go to high school football games.

BETO wanted something like six debates, at least one in Spanish, and on various days, not just Friday.

It seemed to anyone sensible that it was Cruz who was (is) afraid of debating BETO.

And then a debate agreement was reached. With the first debate taking place tonight. I have not yet decided if I will watch the spectacle at the Democrat Party headquarters debate party location on Kemp, or watch it at home, in peace, on my private television viewing device.

Creepy Cruz makes most Americans, and many Texans, skin crawl. Cruz contrasted directly with All American Texan BETO tonight is going to be a pleasant experience for many, or so I hope.

I have my popcorn ready to pop...

Huge August 1 Beto O'Rourke Rally In Wichita Falls Stone Palace

Beto O'Rourke made his 4th return to Wichita Falls last night, on the first day of August, a little over three months before I, along with millions of other Americans, hope Beto puts an end to Ted Cruz being the senator from Texas.

I had previously watched short clips of Beto speaking. I had had others tell me how impressive he is in person.

Last night I found myself among those impressed to see Beto in person.

I do not recollect ever previously witnessing a political figure be so articulate, speaking so long, with no notes, or teleprompter, and with that which was being said seeming so authentic and so in the moment, what with Beto making Wichita Falls and surrounding area references over and over again.

The Beto rally took place in the Stone Palace in downtown Wichita Falls. Last night marks the first time I have been to an event in the Stone Place without running into one of my favorite Texans, Dana Wood Knot.

Miss Wood Knot was likely in the Palace, but I did not see her due to the size of the crowd, with some estimating the number as high as a thousand, and some as low as 700. There were not enough chairs, so it was literally standing room only.

I do not recollect when I was last at an event where those attending were so fired up. When Beto arrived a rock band began blaring, with the crowd standing, trying to see the incoming Beto.

I only had my phone camera with me, hence the bad photo above, and the equally bad YouTube video below, with that video showing part of the aforementioned Beto arrival.

Way back in 2016 I found myself in downtown Fort Worth on the same day Trump held one of his campaign events at that town's convention center. This was before the term "Deplorables" had been used to describe many of those not repulsed by Trump's repulsiveness. That day I had a visceral bad reaction to all the creepy people I was seeing lined up to get in to see Trump.

Last night, surrounded by hundreds of liberal, progressive, democrat decent type people, it felt like I was witnessing something historic, like this is what it is like when America comes roaring back, decent, good, right-minded, intelligent, caring America.

I hope I am right....

Preferring Wichita Falls Fine Rusty MSU Art To Running With Elsie Hotpepper & Beto O'Rourke

This first summer Sunday of 2018 my bike decided to take me on a windy ride north on the Circle Trail, eventually to Hamilton Park, then west through the Wichita Falls version of Beverly Hills, then south to the sprawling campus of MSU (Midwestern State University).

Rolling around the MSU campus on previous occasions I have come upon an art installation. Or two. Or three.

Today I came upon a virtual forest of art installations, installed near something called the Fain Fine Arts Center.

As you can see above, I parked my bike by a giant rusted hammer and then proceeded to walk amongst the rest of the fine rusty art.

I am guessing the above is symbolizing the fact that it is hard to get toothpaste back in the tube once a hard squeeze has released it.

Is the above a rusty Tiki god's lips? Maybe, maybe not.

For some reason there is a lot of Japanese type imagery in Wichita Falls, from pagodas in Lucy Park, to installations covering traffic light controllers in multiple intersection locations. Is this tall piece of rusty fine art a Japanese image? Or Chinese? Or what?

I got myself down to ground level to take the above photo. This looked to be some sort of rusty ball and chain installation in the foreground. Next to a stack of rusty shapes. And a couple non-rusty ceramic looking vases.

This one I may have liked best. Sort of looking like it was a box of glass balancing on a narrow point above a rusty arch.

Earlier this Sunday I have a conversation with Elsie Hotpepper about going running with Elsie and Beto O'Rourke.

I think I enjoyed the walk amongst rusty art more than the early Sunday morning run with Beto O'Rourke...
