What Is Happening At My Neighborhood Chesapeake Energy Natural Gas Drilling Operation?
The past couple days I've been perplexed to the point of bum puzzlement wondering what is going on at my neighborhood Chesapeake Energy Barnett Shale Natural Gas hole in the ground.
Bulldozers have moved a lot of dirt. Pipes and equipment have been moved in.
Along with an outhouse.
The most curious looking thing is the metal wall you see behind the bulldozer.
There have been many a gas drilling location where I wonder how they can run a pipe to carry the non-odorized natural gas that pops out after a successful fracturing.
The Scott Avenue Chesapeake Energy operation turned notorious with its proposed pipeline route along Carter Avenue. That turned into quite a brouhaha, including protests in front of the Tarrant County Courthouse.
How will the gas from my neighborhood Chesapeake operation be moved? To the south is an Albertsons with a stripmall of other businesses. To the east is Loop 820. To the north, as you can see in the picture, is storage units and an apartment complex. To the west is another apartment complex.
How is the gas going to leave my neighborhood Chesapeake Eneergy operation?

Chesapeake Energy Wants To Poke Another Hole In My Neighborhood
For several weeks I've been wondering what was going on on the old, long abandoned Super Wal-Mart parking lot I drive by almost every day.
It looked like a construction site was being prepared.
I was hoping for a Sprouts Farmers Market or an ALDI.
Yesterday I drove by the "construction" site and learned what is actually going on.
Chesapeake Energy wants to poke a hole in the ground in this location, making a lot of noise and generating a lot of dust. As you can see, in the background of the picture of the Chesapeake public hearing notification sign, this proposed drilling site is adjacent to an apartment complex.
Walking behind the Chesapeake Energy sign you can see that the proposed drilling location is across the street from some retail businesses. Like Albertsons and the Chinese Super Bowl Buffet.
Chesapeake Energy has not begun the drilling process and yet it is already trashing up the neighborhood. The chain link fence around the proposed drilling site juts out onto the sidewalk, creating walking hazards.
The chain link fence acts as a net, catching litter, stopping it from blowing into oblivion. Or the Trinity River.
I was told by the person who runs the affected apartment complex that one of its residents is collecting signatures on a petition asking that the permit be denied. I told the person who runs the affected apartment complex that I did not think anything could stop Chesapeake Energy from poking a hole anywhere it wanted to poke in Fort Worth.
Because that is just not the Fort Worth Way.

A HOT Hiking Heatstroke Moratorium Hoping To Enter Paradise In Texas
Looking at the blue-tinted view from my primary viewing portal on the world on this, the 2nd Thursday of July, Day 14, it appears to be yet one more cloud-free morning in Texas.
Currently heated to 83 degrees, heading to a scheduled high of 105, with a Real Feel Heat Index of 109.
I think I will test my doctor's theory that my recent afternoon headaches have been heat exposure related and not expose myself to the noonday heat today.
I have some skepticism regarding this theory I have been suffering from a minor case of heatstroke due to the fact I have been hiking in the HOT Texas noonday sun for years without any noticeable dire effects.
However, this summer it does appear to be more humid than summers past. And, the number of Barnett Shale Natural Gas wells spewing who knows what into the air that I breathe is something I did not much contend with 5 or 6 or 7 years ago.
I am currently scheduled to go with a cat to the Center of Paradise this afternoon around 3. I can not remember the last time I went to the Center of Paradise with a cat.
If I do not get aerobic endorphin stimulation via HOT hill hiking today, that means the only way I can get my needed daily fix is via swimming. I think I will go take care of that right now.
