Happy Birthday To My Mom On An Extremely Breezy Next To Last Day Of January In Texas

That is my mom you are seeing in the picture. I am fairly certain the body of water behind my mom is the Pacific Ocean.

However, that body of water could be the Atlantic Ocean, with the photo taken when my mom and dad had their first long roadtrip, back before they were blessed with multiple offspring.

Today is my mom's happy birthday. I must remember to call.

You can sort of tell that my mom is bracing against a strong wind.

I just returned from a walk in the outer world at my current location and found myself bracing against a strong, cold wind. With no ocean visible. Plenty of fog-like dust though.

I am almost 100% certain I will be seeing my mom and dad soon. Maybe in March. My last visit to Arizona was in March. That seemed to be a not too hot not too cold time of year in the Phoenix zone. Due to my relative allergic woes I will need to wait til the dreaded BS-LS allergen has blown north from Arizona before I land in that state.

Hey, Durango!

A very happy windy birthday to your lovely mom! My pops just had a birthday as well, so this year I presented him with a beautifully framed photo I took on Christmas of his favorite eight-point buck, Bobby. Yes, there was a time when I was just a wee lass when Dad hunted Bobby's kind and made sausage. But time changes us. Now,those White Tail residents are family members entitled to a steady supply of deer corn and doughnut holes.

Time has helped me adjust to the Republic of Tejas as well. You may recall my rantings about heat and highway trash. I have since adjusted and now gripe daily about sub 50 temps. I have found many lovely outdoor spots, some per your recommendations - many thanks! Unchanged is my insistence on wearing a shirt whilst trekking.

Vernal Equinox is March 20, so mark your calendar. 49 days and counting. Enjoy the visit with your folks!

Herb Trekking Marie, I'd given up on you as being terminally lost. Last I heard you were going to wave at Sam on your way to Houston, then, if memory serves, on to San Antonio. After that you disappeared, causing me to send out extensive virtual search parties, to no avail.

Anyway, glad you've adjusted better to the R of T. It does take awhile.
